Orchard Supervisor

Orangewood is a harvest facility specialising in all aspects of growing and harvesting Kiwifruit, along with managing and developing orchards. We are known for our innovative approach and the quality of services we provide.

Based in Kerikeri, we are one of the largest Employers in the area. We are in strong growth and we need a reliable Orchard Supervisor to help us meet demand.

This key role reports directly to the Field Operations Manager and has great long term prospects for the right candidate.

Enthusiasm, commitment and a positive “can-do” attitude are essential qualities, as are a practical approach and the ability to get along with people from all walks of life. While you’ll predominantly be working with seasonal orchard staff you’ll also interact with management, growers and contractors.

We provide solid training in orchard harvesting and maintenance, Heath & Safety and managing staff so that you can confidently and safely lead a team to meet or exceed targets. Industry qualifications and orchard experience, while advantageous, are not required. We are just as interested in someone with a good work history, a great attitude, and the desire for a long-term career.

Duties include but are not limited to:  

  • Leading a team to complete various seasonal tasks
  • General Reporting
  • Health & Safety management
  • Liaising with growers & packhouse
  • Completing vine work throughout the season – from winter pruning right through to harvesting the fruit


Orchard & Packhouse Staff

We employ both full time and seasonal roles in the orchard and pack house and we work closely with several apprenticeship training and horticultural program providers.

We have a positive team environment and working at Orangewood could be a great start to a career in horticulture.

While the majority of our staff returns seasonally, we do have seasonal opportunities and are always on the lookout for good people. In particular we typically need staff from now till June for picking, packing and cool store roles. Full training is provided.
